Answer:

56 men are required to complete the work.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Work completed = 124 days.

Workmen =120.

2/3 work completed =64 days.

M1=120, M2=120-W.

D1=64,

W1=2/3,

W2=1/3.

We need to find that the, how many worked reduced to complete the work?

Step 1:

2/3rd of the work was completed in 64 days by 120 workers.

1/3rd of the work was completed in 32 days by 120 workers.

Step 2:

We know that the 1/3rd of the work is to be completed in 60 days by (120 – x) workers,

Where w is the number of men reduced in order to finish the work on schedule.

Step 3:

According to the formula,

M1D1/W1= M2D2/W2

=> 120×642/3120×642/3=(120−x)×601/3(120−x)×601/3

=> 120×642×60120×642×60=(120-x)

=> (120-x)=64

x=120-64=56.
