because :
(i) It makes them aware of their rights as consumers.
(ii) It makes them aware about the malpractices which take place in the market place.
(iii) It makes them aware about the things which they must note while buying a medicine or any product. These things are date of manufacture, expiry date, how to use the product, side-effects of the product, etc.
(iv) People should be made aware so that the market would work properly. A market won't work properly if the producers are less and the consumers are large and scattered.
