'Consumer cooperative societies' are formed to facilitate the marketing of goods.

Answer: Option b

Explanation:

Consumer cooperatives are formed with the objective of fulfilling need and requirement of its member consumer by supplying goods and services 'at a cheaper rate'. Marketing Cooperative society is an established fact that many small producers are not successful in their projects because they lack marketing skills and networks.

Quality production and cheap rate do not come to their rescue in marketing. It is the 'marketing cooperative' who buy all the goods produced by the small producer and market them when the market is favorable or at different places where there is demand for the same. The producer is benefited by selling and earning a commission from such sales.
