Consumers eat plant products for their survival. Even if we eat any animal product, we are dependent on plants. For example , a lion eats a goat, this goat must have eaten has earlier for it's survival. Without grass goats would die and without goats, the lion would die. Thus directly or indirectly all consumers are dependent on producers for survival.
