Let molecular mass of gas be m grams

.°. Initial moles = m/M

Let P1 = P2 = P/2

Let T1 = T2 = 2/3T

Let x grams of gas not escaped

.°. final moles = m-x/M

We Know, PV = nRT

» P1/P2 = n1T1/n1T2

» P/P/2 = [ m/M/m-x/M ] [ T/2/3T]

» 2 = m/m-x[3/2]

» 3m = 4(m-x)

» 3m = 4m-4x

» 4x = m

» x = m/4

___________________________

Amount of gas that escaped is m/4
