A metallic rectangular cuboid of dimensions 4cm * 6cm * 8cm is melted and more metal is added to make it a cube, the measure of whose side is an integer. What is the minimum volume of metal to be added and what is the side of the cube?

hiii!!!

here's ur answer...

given the length, breadth and height of th cuboid is 4cm, 6cm and 8cm respectively.

volume of the cuboid = l × b × h

= 4 × 6 × 8

= 192cm³

now, we have to find the minimum volume of the metal to be added after melting the cuboid to make a cube.

cube root of 192 = 5.7689...

ATQ, the side if the cube is an integer. so we will take 6 as the side if the cube.

side if the cube = 6cm

volume of the cube = side³

= 6 × 6 × 6

= 216cm³

hence, minimum volume metal required = 216 - 192 = 24cm³

hope it won't help...!!!

Siddharta7: Sis, last step should be 216 - 192.
