Q.. The probability of a person walking back is 0.4 and that of the same person walking forth is 0.6..

So.. calculate his position with respect to his mean position after he walks for 5 steps..

so
in ten steps your statement basically means

6 steps forward 4 steps back

drop it to 5 and it becomes

3 steps forward 2 steps back

so after 5 steps probability dictates that

"he will have only moved 1 step forward totally. also hello I am probability"

Hey dear ☺

As given in the question he took 4 steps back and 6 steps up

the total step will be 10
total \: number \: of \: possible \: outcomes \: = 10

Now we need to calculate the probability of moving that very guy after he had taken 5 steps
that means he had taken 3 steps forward and 2 backwards
our \: favourable \: outcomes \: = 5

now we need to calculate the 6 steps
then definately he could have moved the 6 th steps forward
so probability is 1
