Why pH of saliva change before and after meals??

I think so it causes due to the enzymes released after having meals. Digestion starts in mouth when we chew it. At this time, ptylin, an enzyme is released which breaks down the starch. 

I AM NOT SURE.WE HAVE NOT LEARNT IT YET SO.

pH of saliva before meal is around 7.4-7.6
As we consume something the bacteria in our mouth start to produce acids to have the sugars in our food that sticks up our teeth. Thus after the meal our pH changes to 5.4-5.6 that is slightly acidic.
