Each of the equation .

(i) 3x+2y=9
(ii) 4x-5y=1
(ii) 3/4x-2y =5

is a linear equation in x and y

Now, ax +by +c
=> by=-ax-c

=> y=(-a/b)x-c/b

=> y = mx+c,

where (-a/b)= m and -c/b=c

The graph of y= mx +c is always a line and m is called the slope of this line.
