hay dear ---

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

we know that the perpendicular from the centre of a circle to a chord bisects the chord .
__________________________________________

AP =1/2 AB=(1/2×6)cm = 3cm

CQ = 1/2 CD = (1/2×8)cm = 4cm.

join OA and OC.
Then , OA=OC=5cm.
from the right tringle OPA, we have :

OP² = (OA²-AP²)
=> [(5)²-(3)²]cm²
=> 16cm²

OP=4cm

from the right tringle OQC we have

OQ²=(OC²-CQ²)
=> [(5)²-(4)²]cm²
=> 9cm²

OQ=3cm.

PQ= (OP-OQ)
=>(4-3)
=> 1 cm.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

i hope its help you
