Answers
Answer:
One afternoon two visitors visited the narrator’s house. First uncle Khosorove came to see the narrator’s family. He sat in the parlor, sipping coffee and smoking.
Then another visitor, John Byro came to see the narrator’s family. He was an Assyrian farmer who had learnt to speak Armenian. Narrator’s mother also served him coffee and tobacco. He was sad and told the family that he had lost his white horse and was facing lots of inconvenience without it.
Uncle Khosrove got angry and shouted it was no harm; he also advised him not to pay any attention to it. However, John Byro continued enumerating upon the troubles he was facing. At this uncle Khosrove got angrier and stormed out of the room slamming the door behind him.
Answer:
In William Saroyan’s short story ‘The Summer of the Beautiful White Horse’ two visitors who visited the narrator’s house one afternoon were completely different from each other. The story is about two boys Aram and Mourad and a white horse which was stolen by Mourad from a nearby farmer. The two visitors were Uncle Khosrov and John Byro. Uncle Khosrov was a large man and was always angry, irritated and believed that nobody paid attention. He would tell others to stop talking all the time even during times of trouble. On the other hand, Assyrian farmer John Byro was a family friend who shared that his white horse was stolen but had to leave early due to Kosrov’s behaviour.
