Mrs.Annie Beasant was the President of theosophical society in 1893 and devoted her self to the revival of Hindu religion and Indian education. principles of theosophical society were to develop the feeling of fraternity, to study ancient religions, philosophy and science. She started a newspaper called New India and spread theosophical ideas. She founded Central Hindu College at Benaras. Later it developed into Benaras Hindu University
