Dr. Rajendra Prasad was the first President of the Republic of India(1950-1962). He played a vital role in the independence movement of India and followed the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi. 

His contribution in the formation of the constitution of India include; 

(i) He was the Chairman of the Constituent Assembly. 

(ii) Under his chairmanship, the basic draft of the constitution was made.

(iii) He led the Rules Committee and the Steering Committee. 

(iv) He worked to ensure the security of the rights of the people in the Constitution of India.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad holds immense contribution in the overall making of the Indian Constitution.

As the head of the constituent assembly, he had an immense role in the formation of the Indian Constitution.

With a towering personality, he desperately participated in the freedom movement.

The final constitution was adopted on 26th November 1949.
