Bal Gangadhar Tilak was a active member of INC( Indian national congress). He was a activist leader in INC, he played a very important role during swadeshi movement  after bengal Division. He organised  Ganpati festival to link public and aware them for their rights and political awareness.  When congress split in 1907 after Surat conference. He started Home Rule league with Anie besant, his home rule movement was organised in the line of Irish movement. many social reformers and great leader like gopal krishna gokhale, neharu, Jinna etc  joined this movement. Due to tilak effort again moderate and activist came on the common platform in 1916 Lucknow session.

women, student, farmers, peasant, businesses man  etc had been participated   . Untouced section of indian society beacame aware. thus we can say that tilak had given a solid platform for M K gandhi for his movement like Civil disobedience movement, Non cooperation movement khilafat  etc.
