Control Union Certifications in India is accredited by the National Accreditation Body (NAB), Government of India. Under this accreditation, CUC can perform inspections and certifications of farms/farmer groups, processors, traders/exporters, wild collection units, apiculture/beekeeping units and livestock/poultry units in accordance with the guidelines of the National Program for Organic Production.

To provide for the focused and well-directed development of organic agriculture and quality products, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry under the Government of India launched the National Program for Organic Production (NPOP) in 2000. This program was formally notified in October 2001 under the Foreign Trade & Development Act. According to DGFT notifications, agricultural products exported as organic need to have an organic certificate issued by an accredited certifying agency.

Certification allows you to use the India Organic logo. The India Organic certification mark certifies that an organic food product conforms to NPOP standards.
