Conversation based on being respectful to your elders
Answers
Mother: Son, will you buy some groceries for me?
Son: No mom! I'm not always free like you.
Mother: Son, may I want you to be more respectful to your elders?
Son: Hmm...okay. But why?
Mother: We nurture and nourish you. In return children just have to be polite to us.
Son: Is it just to parents?
Mother: Definitely, no...you have to learn to respect all the elders whether in our family or not.
Son: Okay I agree. But why do we have to respect the elders not belonging to our family?
Mother: Whoever that person is, he/she has a self-respect and dignity. They wouldn't like anyone to talk to them in a rude manner.
Son: Hmm...Why don't they like it?
Mother: Respecting elders means respecting someone who has generally faced more than you, struggled more than you, survived more than you. Respecting elders means respecting the fact that human life is tough, even for people who seem privileged.
Son: I am sorry mom..I will be more respectful next time.
