Conversation between a boy and his mother about domestic duties
Answers
Boy: Mom, Srishti is asking me to make her a cup of tea! How ridiculous! Do boys ever do kitchen work?
Mother: You should make her a cup of tea. It is not ridiculous. Who says kitchen work is only for girls and women?
Boy: But I have never seen grandpa or father work in the kitchen. Either granny or you do the kitchen work!
Mom: But that does not mean boys and men can’t work in kitchen. Granny and I do kitchen work for all of you out of love and care; and besides grandpa and father earn money for the family so we don’t want to bother them with extra work.
Boy: Oh! I see! I thought only girls and women worked in kitchen.
Mom: That’s wrong thinking. Now I will teach you some kitchen work; and next time if your sister asks you to make her a cup of tea, do fulfill her wish.
Boy: Sure mom, I will.
