You can either use the following discussion or develop your own taking ideas from it:

Student A: Hey do you know our friend Sumit’s parents have refused to allow him to join the school trip and he is very sad about it!

Student B: I know. In fact he called me up for help. He asked me to talk to you about it and do something about it.

Student A: Do you have any idea why his parents are not letting him go?

Student B: I think I do. It is because he is quite mischievous and careless. They think he won’t be able to look after himself during the trip. He has never been alone on his own! He is not used to be independent.

Student A: That’s alright; but they should know that such trips are very helpful in one’s growth and development. It is during such trips one learns to be self reliant and learn to cope up with the challenges!

Student B: Do you think we can persuade his parents somehow to send him along with us?

Student A: I think we need to talk to them. We will tell them how such trips make us more mature. At home we always living in the cocoon of comfort, luxuries, and protection among our loving and caring family members; we generally take them for granted. We are usually not appreciative of their love for us. However, when we spend time away from home, especially in a place where we don’t have the same luxuries readily available to us, we become more aware and appreciative for the luxuries we have back at home. We will tell them his very perspective about his family change after the trip.

Student B: Besides, we will take guarantee that we will look after him. We will be with him throughout the trip. We will also tell them there is nothing to feel worried about as competent teachers will be with us.

Student A: I also feel such trips are once in a life time opportunity and every student must avail it.

Student B: I agree with you. I think we must talk to his parents and let’s see what we can do.

Student A: All these reasons will definitely make them rethink their decision.
