This is an ASL prompt for speaking in class 9. You can say the following lines or something similar:
Friend A: Well, this wastage of food is quite a common sight in our city. I just wonder why people waste so much food knowing well there are millions of people in our country who don't get a square meal everyday!
Friend B: I completely agree with you. There is flagrant wastage of food stuff at wedding receptions, get-togethers, or other functions. Huge quantities of unused food stinking on roads with dogs, cows and other animals eating it! How careless of us as people.
Friend A: Even our friends, whenever they go out for a meal together, they also waste lots of food. The other day, Vibhu celebrated his birthday party at Mc Donalds; I was also invited. Our classmates wasted so much food and cold drinks! I told them to consume their food stuff completely; they laughed my suggestion off! What can we do to stop this wastage of food?
Friend B: This is really disgusting. I think we must talk to our teacher to give a moral lecture to our class on the importance of food items. If we will talk to them on the matter, they won't take it seriously.
Friend A:That's a very bright idea. I will make a catchy powerpoint presentation on food wastage problem and its negative effects, and request the teacher to show it to the entire class along with his lecture. It will have better effect on them when they will see the facts and figures concerning the food wastage in our country.
Friend B: We can also spread awareness among the school children by making charts and putting them on our House notice board. Wise people say 'example is better than precept', we ourselves must not waste any food item. If each one of us starts consuming food wisely, I feel this problem can be minimized to  a great extent.
Friend A: We can also start Food Savers Club to spread awareness related to the issue among people in the surrounding areas. We can also involve Government, and NGOs and media in sensitizing the masses nationwide.
Friend B: That's true, but then we won't be able to focus on our studies; this is a very bright idea, but we will take it up after we finish our schooling.
Friend A: Let's start it from our school then. After all 'charity begins at home'.
