- from ethyne,
first you need to convert it to ethene and then ethane.
- from ethene,
first you need to convert it to ethane.
after converting to ethane, now you can use :
- acidified k2cr2o7
- Cu tube at 200°C
now by controlled or catalytic oxidation of any alkane will give you its corresponding alcohol.
thus,
now convert using the compounds and at the respective conditions.
Cu tube
2C2H6 + O2 ------------> 2C2H5OH
(200℃)
