hi

It is easy. Pure Sodium Acetate and pure Sodium Hydroxide should be put in a beaker. The beaker should be heated for reaction. Then, Methane can be observed in gas formed.

The reaction: CH3COONa + NaOH → CH4(g) + Na2CO3
