it depends on the material density...
for e.g. - 100 g of water 0.1 liter

Tina2141: what about 100g of calcium carbonate?
realsujaykumar: well if you take caco3 it's desity is 2.71g/cm3 it means 2.71g of caco3 = 1cm3 , simply you can say 2.71g of caco3 = 1 ml = 0.001 liter, hence 100g of caco3 = (1÷2.271)×100 =0.0369 liter
