Let x = 2.9999...... ---------―- eq 1

( Multiply both side by 10 )

10x = 29.9999...... ------------ eq 2

Now subtract eq 1 from eq 2 .

10x - x = 29.9999 - 2.9999

9x = 27

x = 27/9

x = 3

We can write it as :-

x = 3/1 ( Ans )

( p/q = 3/1 )
