1 erg is energy required to move a body 1 cm after applying 1 dyne force

1 erg = 1dyne ×1cm

(10^-5)(10^-2) Nm

=10^-7 joule

so 1J =10^7erg

as we know that 1J energy =10^7erg

by unitary method 5J =5×10^7erg
