Answer:Well firstly, you need to add Ammonia(NH3) and heat, then amine group(-NH2) will be added to the compound in place of the hydroxyl group (-OH). Next, you'll have to do Hoffman Bromide degradation reaction to convert the amide group into amine group and you'll get methyl amine. The reaction is :-
And alternatively, this reaction can also be done in only one step. In this method you have to perform a reaction called - Schimdt reaction
Reagent used - Hydrazoic acid (N3H) in the presence of conc. Sulphuric acid. Reaction :-
