React anisole with methyl chloride ( CH_{3}Cl ) in presence of anhydrous aluminium trichloride ( AlCl_{3} ) , 2-methoxy toluene  is formed .

  • The molar mass of 2-methoxy toluene  is 122.16 g/mol . It is used as a food flavouring ingredient .
