convert convert conversion of decimal number in p/q form
Answers
Answer:
There are 3 types of decimal expansion : Terminating , Non- terminating-repeating , non - terminating - non repeating
Step-by-step explanation:
1) Terminating numbers ( A terminating decimal is a decimal that ends. It's a decimal with a finite number of digits . )
eg : 68.487 - we just remove the decimal point , and divide by as many 0 as the number of digits after decimal . Since 68.487 has 3 digits after decimal we remove the decimal and divide it by 1000
so , 68.487 = 68487/1000 = p/q form
2) Non - Terminating repeating numbers ( a decimal number that doesn't end but has a pattern )
* in file attached below
3) Non - Terminating non - repeating numbers ( a decimal number that doesn't end & neither has a pattern )
as we know these are irrational numbers therefore can't be expressed in p/q form
