convert -ethanal to propanal

Ethanal is oxidised using acidified KMnO4,ethanal is oxidized to ethanoic acid. Ethanoic acid then reacts with NaOH to give CH3COONa and its decarboxylation gives ethane. Ethane then is converted to chloroethane and by Wurtz's reaction CH3Na+ C2H5Cl gives propane. When propane is oxidised in presence of alkaline KMnO4 it gives propanal.
