Convert the following: (a) 54.75 g/L HCI to molarity; (b) 3 M K2SO4 to g/L.​

(a) 1.5 M

(b) 522 g/L

Explanation:

(a) 54. 75 g/L HCl = 54.75 g of HCl in 1 L of solution

No. of moles of HCl = 54.75/36.45= 1.5 moles

Molarity = no. of moles of solute/volume of solution ( in L)

Therefore Molarity = 1.5 /1 = 1.5 M

(b)

3 M K_2SO_4 = 3 moles of  K_2SO_4 in 1 L of solution

Mass of  K_2SO_4  = 3 × 174g = 522g

Therefore 3 M  K_2SO_4  = 522 g /L
