Answer:

The Celsius scale, also known as the centigrade scale is used to measure temperature by the International System of units. Symbol:

The Fahrenheit scale is also a temperature scale with a symbol of as the unit.

The formula used for the conversion of temperature unit from ℃ to ℉ is given by

℉ = [℃ * (9℉/ 5℃)] + 32℉

(i) 40℃

Based on the above formula,

= [40℃ * (9℉/ 5℃] + 32℉

= 104 ℉

(ii) 30℃

Based on the above formula,

= [30℃ * (9℉/ 5℃] + 32℉

= 86 ℉

Given:

The temperature in degree celsius:

a. 40°C             b. 30°C

To Find:

The temperature in degree Fahrenheit.

Calculation:

- The conversion formula from °C to °F is given as:

F = (9/5) C + 32

(a) 40°C

- Using the above formula,  we get:

F = (9/5) × 40 + 32

⇒ F = 72 + 32

⇒ F = 104 °F

(b) 30°C

- Using the above formula,  we get:

F = (9/5) × 30 + 32

⇒ F = 54 + 32

⇒ F = 86 °F

- So, the temperature in degree Fahrenheit for 40°C and 30°C is 104°F and 86°F respectively.
