Answer:

1) Eight time a no minus six is 20

2) A no. added with five fourth is 7

3) Seventy eight minus four times a no. is 18

SOLUTION

1)

8x = 20 + 6 \\  8x = 14 \\ x =  \frac{14}{8} \\ x =  \frac{7}{4}  \\ x = 1 \times \frac{3}{4}

2)

x  = 7 -  \frac{4}{5}  \\ x =  \frac{35 - 4}{5} \\ x =  \frac{31}{5}  \\ x = 6 \times \frac{1}{5}

4x = 18 - 78 \\ 4x =  - 60 \\ x =  \frac{ - 60}{4}  \\ x =  - 15
