Question

Convert the following fractions into equivalent like fractions.

 \tt \blue{ \looparrowright \frac{7}{5}. \frac{11}{30}} \\ \\   \tt \red{ \looparrowright\frac{7}{6}. \frac{9}{16}} \\  \\  \tt \green{\looparrowright\frac{5}{12}. \frac{19}{72}}

Answer

For (i)

 \tt \blue{ \looparrowright \frac{7}{5}. \frac{11}{30}}

The LCM of their denominator is 30.

Therefore,

 \tt \blue{ \looparrowright \frac{7 \times 6}{5 \times 6} = \frac{42}{30}}

 \tt \blue{ The \: answer \: is \: \frac{42}{30}}

For(ii)

 \tt \red{ \looparrowright\frac{7}{6}. \frac{9}{16}}

The LCM of their denominator is 48

Therefore,

 \tt \red{ \looparrowright\frac{7 \times 8}{6 \times 8} =  \frac{56}{48}}

\tt \red{The \: answer \: is \:  \frac{56}{48}}

For (iii)

 \tt \green{\looparrowright\frac{5}{12}. \frac{19}{72}}

TheLCM of their denominator is 72

Therefore,

 \tt \green{\looparrowright\frac{5 \times 6}{12 \times 6} = \frac{30}{72}}

 \tt \green{The \: answer \: is \:\frac{30}{72}}

Therefore,

i)

 \tt \blue{ \Rsh \frac{42}{30}}

ii)

 \tt \red{ \Rsh \frac{56}{48}}

iii)

 \tt \green{ \Rsh\frac{30}{72}}

Convert the following fractions into equivalent like fractions.

(i)  \dfrac{7}{5} ,  \dfrac{11}{30}

Firstly we will take the L.C.M of 5 and 30

L.C.M of 5 and 30 is 30 .

Now ,

 \dfrac{7}{5} =  \dfrac{7×6}{5×6} =  \dfrac{42}{30}

 \dfrac{11}{30} =  \dfrac{11×1}{30×1} =  \dfrac{11}{30}

Now they both are equivalent fractions

__________

(ii)  \dfrac{7}{6} ,  \dfrac{9}{16}

Firstly we will take the L.C.M of 6 and 16

L.C.M of 5 and 30 is 48 .

Now ,

 \dfrac{7}{6} =  \dfrac{7×8}{16×8} =  \dfrac{56}{48}

 \dfrac{9}{16} =  \dfrac{9×3}{16×3} =  \dfrac{27}{48}.

Now , they are equivalent fractions.

__________

(iii)  \dfrac{5}{12} ,  \dfrac{19}{72}

Firstly we will take the L.C.M of 5 and 30

L.C.M of 5 and 30 is 72

Now ,

 \dfrac{5}{12} =  \dfrac{5×6}{12×6} =  \dfrac{30}{72}

 \dfrac{19}{72} =  \dfrac{19×1}{72×1} =  \dfrac{19}{72}

Now , they are equivalent fractions.
