What is active voice?

Active voice refers to a sentence in which the subject performs action or object undergoes action.

Ex:- The dog killed the cat.

What is passive voice?

Passive voice refers to a sentence in which the subject undergoes or object performs action.

Ex:- The cat was killed by the dog.

General rules for changing the sentence from active voice to passive voice:-

• The object in active voice becomes subject in passive voice.

• The subject in active voice becomes object in passive voice.

• While changing we have to be aware of Verb.

• In active voice the subject is in initial position.

• In passive voice the object is in initial position.
• It is preceded by the preposition by.

• The tense of the Verb will not be changed while changing the voice.

Note:-

When the given sentence is universal fact then the sentence cannot be changed.

Ex:- The sun rises in the east.
