Relative clause is a kind of dependent or subordinate clause that gives more information about a noun or subject in the same sentence. There are two types of relative clauses. First type is Defining Relative Clause and the other type is Non-Defining Relative Clause.

Defining relative clause functions or identifies which person or thing you are talking about. If left out, the sentence would appear incomplete. However, Non-defining relative clause only describes and adds extra information about somebody or something.  If left out, the sentence would still make sense. A non-defining relative clause is usually put in commas.

Conversion of the given pairs of sentences into structures with relative clauses is given below:

i)The sun, which is more than 90 million miles away supports life.

ii)The stars that shine like glow-worms in the sky are tremendously large masses of burning material in a gaseous state.

iii)A cheetah which escaped from the zoo yesterday was caught this morning.

iv)I went to a party yesterday where I met some very charming women.

v)People who live in glass houses should not throw stones on others.
