Hello,
A ratio in mathematics is just a comparison of two quantities. For example, if the number of cups of sugar for ONE cake is THREE, then the ratio of cakes to cups of sugar is 1:3. Just comparing the quantities.
And, a ratio is just a fraction; saying 'one OUT OF three cups of sugar is the number of cakes' (which is nothing but one). Hence, 1:3 = 1/3.
Taking another ratio, say 2:5, the fraction is 2/5. For this, finding the percentage is multiplying it by hundred - (2/5)×100 = 40%
