What is passive voice?

Passive voice means that a subject is a recipient of a verb's action. Subject + To be (conjugated) + Past participle + Rest of sentence

What is active voice?

The active voice describes a sentence where the subject performs the action stated by the verb. Subject + Verb + Object + Rest of the objects

★ACTIVE VOICE

Active Voice tells us something that a person or a thing does

In other words, the Active Voice expresses an action in which the subject is actively engaged.

★Examples:

• The principal's assistant brought a circular to my class.
• The teacher read it's contents loud.

★PASSIVE VOICE

Passive voice tells us something that is done to a person or a thing.

In other words, the subject in the Passive Voice is not the doer of the action but its recipient.

★Examples:

• A circular was brought to my class by the p principal's assistant.
• It's contents were read aloud by the teacher.
