( iii ) 2 times the sum of the no x and 7 is 13
answer = 2 times means * 2 ;
The equation is : 2 ( x + 7 ) = 13 , solution:
2 ( x + 7 ) = 13
x + 2 = 13 / 2
x = 13 / 2 - 7 ; By taking LCM we get denominator 2
x = ( 13 - 14 ) / 2
x = -1/2
( Or we can do like this)
2 ( x + 7 ) = 13
( 2 * x ) + ( 2 * 7 ) = 13
2x = 13 - 14
2 x = -1 /2
so 'x ' = -1/2
