He wished me to be blessed by God with success...OR He said that I might be blessed by God with success...

preeja13: sorry to object you in this. That he was not speaking for himself rather you speaking for he or she gender so I wanted to know the gender of you in the indirect speech
preeja13: sorry for you were right ☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺
Manu1985: the gender of you is either me or her or him because in the given question only the speaker's gender is made known but we are not sure about the Lister... since we are not sure about to whom it's spoken...we may conclude that it is me... that's it
preeja13: sorry for you were right ☺
Manu1985: it's okay...

By converting the sentence, “He said,"May God bless you with success! "” the sentence would translate into the following sentence, “He said that he wished for God to bless me with success”.

This happens because in indirect speech the words actually spoken by speaker are changed.

This is done as the sentence was uttered by the actual speaker in the past and therefore in order to narrate the same sentence in present, the tense of the sentence needs to be changed.
