Answer:

 \frac{4x}{3}  - 1 = 13  \\  \frac{4x}{3}  = 13 + 1 = 14 \\  \frac{4x}{3} = 14 \\ 4x = 14 \times 3 \\ x =  \frac{14 \times 3}{4 } \\ x =  \frac{21}{2}   \\ x = 10.5

Question

 \frac{4x}{3}  - 1 = 13

Answer

Moving -1 to other side

 \frac{4x}{3}  = 13 + 1

 \frac{4x}{3}  = 14

 Multiplying both sides by 3

 \frac{4x}{3}  \times 3 = 14 \times 3

4x = 42

 Dividing both sides by 4

 \frac{4x}{4}  =  \frac{42}{4}

x = 10.5
