Convex lens

A convex lens is thicker at the centre than at the edges. Rays of light that pass through the lens are brought closer together. A convex lens is a converging lens.

Concave lens

A concave lens is a lens that possesses at least one surface that curves inwards. It is a diverging lens, making that it spreads out light rays that have been refracted through it.
