Here R = = + 3.0 m and u = - 5.0 m
From the mirror formula
1/v + 1/u = 2/ R, we have
1/v = 2/R - 1/U
= 2/(3.0) - 1/(-5.0)
= 2/3 + 1/5 = 10+3 /15 = 13/15
V = 15/13 m = +1.16 m
+ve sign of image distance v means that the image is virtural and formed behind the mirror.
Moreover magnification
m = - v/u
= -(1.16) / (-5.0) = +0.23.
Thus, the image is diminished in size.
