Hey friend...

When two elements undergo mutual sharing i.e. when they cannot completely transfer electron to complete octet then they share their electrons to complete octet rule. octet rule means that the outer most shell an element need to have 8 electrons to attain stability.

So, when elements connot transfer their electron completely as they themselves need to have to complete octet so they share one to three electron and hence became stable......
