Copper:Zinc::5:12

Let the amount of Copper contained be 5x and that of zinc as 12x

5x+12x=85
17x=85
:. x=85/17
=5

:.Copper weight =5x= 5*5=25
Zinc weight =12x=12*12=60

Hence, the weight of Copper and zinc in the brass statue is 25kg and 60kg respectively.
