One of tge easiest method is  Powdered charcoal and copper oxide can be separated by addition of water. Charcoal being less dense floats on the top and copper oxide settles at the bottom of the container


On warming with dilute acid solutions copper oxide sample(black) is converted in blue solution which can separated by filtration..
