copper is used for making water pipes and not lead why ?

As lead pipes are dis-solvable in water so they will not be reliable and can use leakage

It is malleable and ductile, in which case is easy to mould into shape. Also copper is a relatively non-reactive metal ranking low on the on the table of reaction metals, so it won't react with the water during use. And when coated with certain chemicals can be prevented from corroding. Also copper may be considered cheaper than other useable metals. Hope this helped
