Sulphuric acid is a very strong dehydrating acid. When it reacts with transition metal/sulphates , dehydration is rapid. In this case; CuSO4 + H2SO4 → CuO3 + 2 SO2 + H2O. Copper sulphate + sulphuric acid gives Copper oxide + Sulphur dioxide + Water.

Copper reacts with hot and concentrated sulphuric acid to form copper sulphate, sulphur dioxide gas and water.
