Coppper gives two oxides. On heating 1.0g of each in hydrogen gas 0.888g and o.799 g of the metal are produced. show that the results agree with the multiple law of proportion.

⇒Weight of Copper = 0.888g

⇒Weight of Oxygen = 1 - 0.888g = 0.112g

Weight of metal per gram of oxygen = \frac{0.888}{0.122} g = 7.93h

The Ratio of weights of metals reacting with same weight of exygen with same weight of oxygen = \frac{3.97}{7.93}g=1:2
