COPRA stands for CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT which was applied on 1986 to protect consumers from fake market price, expiry dates and to aware consumers about importance of consumers rights... The features of COPRA are-

1. It was a major step enacted by the government in 1986. It stands for-COnsumers PRotection Act.

2. Under the COPRA, a three tier quasi-judicial machinery was set up at district level, state level and national level for the redressal of consumer disputes.

3. The district level court looks into cases involving claims upto Rs.20 lakhs, the state level courts looks into cases involving claims between Rs 20 lakhs and Rs 1 crore and the national level courts look into cases involving claims more than Rs 1 crore.
