It does, but weakly. Rivers running more or less due north or south do tend to erode more strongly along the right bank (on the northern hemisphere) so that even meandering rivers tend to be mostly on the right side of the flood plain.
Outside my window is a fjord draining a larger fjord complex furter inland. Right below me, on the southwest side, the current runs IN even when the tide is going out. On the opposite side the current always runs out, hugging the right bank
