Explanation:

From the world’s most sophisticated European healthcare systems to the world's largest spending healthcare system in the US, every country affected by Corona pandemic is struggling to control it.

In a Crisis, there are many unknown variables and hence the system always fights it with a reactive approach. We go from handling one crisis to another. It is a sort of fire fighting.

What healthcare needs to fight Corona is a system's approach. DayToDay is an acute care management company which has brought in system thinking into tertiary healthcare.

We have redefined the approach of care management of complex surgical care in both pre and post-operative period and also in their rehabilitation phase.

When we used this same systems approach to Corona pandemic we found two major issues impacting the management of Covid-19 cases:

1. The vulnerability of healthcare workforce to get infected by exposure to Covid-19

2. And patients with other diseases who also become susceptible to Covid-19

After studying the healthcare system response of various countries like Italy, Spain, Germany, UK and Korea we found that 20 per cent of infected patients are healthcare workers and this leads to a compound effect where these people can infect other patients and hence the number of patients increases while the healthcare workforce decrease. This is a double whammy to healthcare system.

In Delhi, a mohalla clinic doctor got infected after he treated a Covid-19 patient. By the time he was diagnosed he had treated 1000 patients in his clinic. These patients become susceptible to infection.
